Giving Back To The Community
On Sunday, November 4 th , 2018, Boston Welding donated materials and the use of equipment along with 4 employees who donated their time to design and build a custom wheelchair ramp. The ramp was built for a 5-year-old boy suffering from Cerebral Palsy.
The family, who had been struggling financially, were unable to transport their child in and out of the home safely. Two weeks prior one of our employees, who is a friend of the family, offered to donate his own time to design and build the ramp and asked if the materials and use of equipment could be donated as well. During that time 3 other employees also volunteered their time to help with the project. Along the way they recruited friends and family to also help. The ramp took over 12 hours to design and build. Most of this was done on-site due to the custom fit to the family’s home and landscape.
The ramp is used just about every day and the family is
extremely grateful to everyone involved in the process. We are proud of our employees for their
commitment and very honored to have been able to help in the ways we did.
